Will the real conservative party, please stand up!

As a child way over fifty years ago, my family was dyed-dead-in-the-wool southern conservative democrats. Democrats to them were the working man’s party, and the republicans’ well they were the rich, trying to suck the bread from the poor, according to my dad.

If you told my Dad who has recently passed away, today the democrat party stands for Heterophobics (homosexuality), abortion, more government and less private rights with increase in taxes, he would say: “that’s only republican propaganda”. I use the term Heterophobics because the homosexual community calls those of us who are straight homophobe’s in an attempt to label us as hate mongers. I read there is a documentary coming out called “Outrage” where Heterophobics are using such film to expose Republican closet gays and using such information showing where closet gay republicans denounced homosexuality while practicing it.

I agree that they should expose these hypocrites but saying that people who speak out against homosexuality are just hiding that they are gay is over the top, would that also include God who said homosexuality is an abomination? Using the term “gay bashing” is labeled on straights who oppose homosexuality, where a person like me does not hate the sinner, but only the sin, which I find as a cancer. Many of us have known that there has been an infiltration of Heterophobics entering into the Republican party like Tammy Bruce (lesbian and fox news contributor), and pro-gay marriage Culture Vulcher Warrior of the O’Reilly Factor Margaret Hoover and of course the Log Cabin Republicans who believe Lincoln was a closet homosexual, only to divide and conquer.

When the democrat party shifted to the left, I of course being of sound mind, well some would debate that last statement, went to the right into the Republican Party. I stood for less government, less taxes, pro-Constitution, pro-family, and very pro-life and basically anti-Heterophobics (homosexuals).

I am from Idaho and supported my candidates, getting out the vote only to find out that one of my Senators were playing footsies, going after tootsie’s in a men’s bathroom in Minnesota. In my county democrats have camouflaged themselves as republicans and have taken over the party, where our conservative planks have shifted to center as we are being out-voted. This too is happened in every county across America and into the national party. The grand ole party is now ready for burial, as I cannot tell the difference between the republican or democrat party. My conservative moral and fiscal principles are no longer represented and many of my conservative Christian friends are compromising their faiths to stay in a party.

Here is my thesis! You want to know the best way to catch a pigeon? You line little bread crumbs (special interest) in a straight line and at the end of the line put a cage with a spring door. The pigeon is so hypnotized by his or her crumbs and filling the belly he walks right into the cage where it snaps close. This too is happening to us as Americans where we are following our own special crumb trails of special interest only and have nothing but tunnel vision. The cage for us is the loss of liberty, loss of capitalism, loss of our own sovereignty. Like the pigeon that was always free as we are, he now looks at his freedom gone because he failed to look around him, keeping only one thing in mind, the crumbs. His life is now controlled and at the hands of his captor, where his freedom is no longer.

Ever see blinders put on a horse where he can only see straight ahead and his side views are blocked? This is to shield his peripheral view so as not to be spooked. We, the American people, are wearing blinders and if we ever take them off we will be in shock, but will it be too late.

Mob rule now has the floor where one class of person’s is pitted against another. A new generation of brown shirt fascist is on the rise (ACORN) , using crumbs to perpetuate the goals of those in silence. When individuals follow the crumbs, they give up free will; give up the ability to obtain knowledge and wisdom. Without knowledge and wisdom, fear, panic will ensue, and YOU will follow anyone who seems logical, feeds you, satisfies your appetite, remember the crumbs, your cage awaits you America!

FOR EVERY ACTION, THERE IS AN EQUAL AND OPPOSITE REACTION!

When I refer back to my disabilities, it is not for pity, it is because I relate a lot of my disabilities to life in general and to the population as a whole. Sound Confusing? There are some who may lose a limb or two, and he or she cannot see pass the present, becoming depressed and just gives up, thinking there is nothing more that they can do, my life is over, they tell themselves and others, living in self pity. There are those who accept their disability, but that is as far as it goes in life and they just live, but do nothing, except to exist like a statuette on a mantle. And there are those who not only accepted disability, but have looked into the eyes of defeat and say: I will improvise, adapt and overcome this disability.

There are in life I believe, three types of people that make up this country. (1). There are people who wish things would happen. (2). People who want things to happen. (3). People who actually make things happen. In referenced above I use my disabilities to describe people in general. A person with a disability under type one just moans and wish they had their limbs back, with no sense of a future. These are the people who play the lottery as part of their retirement package. The number two category for someone who has lost a limb, just want their limbs back. In fact they are lost, have no direction and are; pardon the pun, in limbo. The third group is loaded with energy. They do not see a disability but just a slight obstacle to overcome and continue through life working to achieve a goal.

Taking the above examples are based on not only using my disabilities, but observance over the years of every day American people who have no disabilities or do they? Having a defeatist attitude in my opinion is a disability. A defeatist has no picture for a brighter future; therefore puts his or her head back in the sand. People who want things to happen are bounced back and forth like a tennis ball on court, where two equal positive forces or negative forces manipulate them. In other words, they are on the expressway and cannot find the exit. The latter of the three have direction. They look at obstacles and build on how to go around, or over them.  They do not look at the size of obstruction, but seek a source to overcome that obstruction.

In this country I listen to people talk about where we are going in our beloved United States and this too is applied to the above categories. In politics the complainers in the first category will say: “there is no hope we are out numbered, so what is the use to even try. Maybe we should run to another town, county or state that thinks like we do or we just put up with it (heads in the sand). They live in a house of cards.

The second group in politics wants things to change, and fear for their liberty but for the life of them they have no clue what to do other than voice an opinion when its applicable. They are in a state of confusion, and are easily swayed if anyone points with some certainty of reason,  they will accept it as fact, but still cannot commit to any action, because what if they are wrong, or they are verbally attacked, they live in fear? They live in a house of clay.

The last group takes the challenge, incorporates action, looks at the odds and dismisses obstacles. Failure is not an option, and when they fall, they get up and dust off their pants off and start all over again. They absorb the pain, always going forward with a positive mental attitude; strong foundation, stating: “damn the torpedo’s full speed ahead”, living in a house of stone.

The people I have described have not changed and have the same attitude since our country was founded. Prior to the revolution, a group one did nothing, the second group sided with the current leadership the King and the third fought a revolution started a new nation called the United States.

I want to tell you a short true story. In my “county” where I live, was a totally dominated county of liberal democrats that had complete control over our county politics for years. People tried to vote them out with no avail until local residents just got tired of even trying, the odds were against them and it got where no one would run against them. There seem to be no hope. One day a county commissioner who is democrat, which one could get him off the board stated: “we need to control the amount of dissent in our meetings and cut time down to one minute for complaints”. It was to take away opportunity to petition the government for the redress of grievances (1st Amendment to the Constitution). This angered the republicans, but they would constantly state in meetings: “what can we do, they are tying our hands and can get away with it, because they control the rules”. (Category one and two).

A little sawed off runt stands up with body parts of steel like the old bionic man and says: “why not do recalls”. The republican replied: “no one will sign it, it will be a waste of time, what he has done is legal. That maybe true replied the sawed-off runt, but is it moral, and there is the possibility we can get the press to cover it and describe the actions of these county commissioners we feel is unconstitutional.

The sawed-off runt, types up the petitions, had copies made for signatures, and delivers the copies to the head of the republican county party. When the sawed off runt asked the republican county leader is he getting any signatures, the Republican Party leader replies: “I just delegate authority, I do not obtain signatures”. (Category 2).

Getting close to the expiration time limit, required by the state law to obtain signatures,  so the general population would be able to vote, I, the sawed off runt noticed no one was getting signatures but a few (category 3). Time was near, so I had to come up with a solution to save a good plan. I talked with the Republican leader and said well, he is easing his (county commissioner) restrictions and opened up with more time available, and it looks like we are not going to make the required amount of signatures how about us doing a news conference saying we will stop the recall since the county commissioner is reversing his stance to suppress free speech. The Republican leader said; “well you will have to do this own your on as I do not think it will work and we should just do nothing and let the issue die, it was your idea and I wash my hands of it (Category 3). Sorry Mr. Republican leader, to do nothing, closes the door should we have to go down this same path again, and to allow defeat encourages elevation of morale for the opposition. NO WAY! In a news conference, this sawed-off-runt called the recall off, giving the county commissioner praise that he (crooked county commissioner) reversed his stance, and I hope in the future, no action will be required. Democrat’s snickered passing doubt that the Republicans or Independents could obtain the signatures. The election was the following year, and because of the controversy, the democrat was voted out of office, which started a chain reaction.

What category would you place our forefathers in who not only risked their incomes and properties, but their lives, because if caught would have been hung for treason. There have been category three people throughout history. I have taught this too our children since birth. My youngest son who has seen more disabled people in a short span of his life than most see in a life time as disabled veterans came to my home to meet who was blind, paralyzed, loss of limbs, disfigured. That did not stop my son who went on to join the Army, completed two tours in Iraq, encountered 15 IED’s (improvised explosive device) according to his records and was injured from four IED’s. I am proud of all my children who are the extension of their mother and I, and who will carry on for generations teaching their young.

The question is who are you? When you look yourself in the mirror are you a 1. 2 or 3 type person? Is it easier to make excuses of an in action, than to take action because “for every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction”. No action mean status quo, and silence. Are you the kind of person who states: “I am behind you”? I would rather have people stand beside me not behind me. Do you believe this country is worth saving, or are you going to put your head in the sand?

If you cannot find a tea party in your area are you just going to stay home, or are you going to be a category 3 and organize one? Are you going to let congress stay the status quo, or push for term limits and constantly write your congressman and senators? Liberty is calling for its survival, are you listening?

New to the forum

I am grateful to Town hall for having this forum where people like me can express their opinions.  Some may take offense to my name "Freemanredneck" so I thought I would explain it in this first part of my blog.  You see, my family and I lived on a small vegetable farm outside of Lake City, Florida where we worked in the fields either hoeing weeds, to planting sweet potato vines or harvesting our crops.  In Florida it can get a little warm while working on a farm and our necks use to be burnt red, hence we were called "rednecks", which we were labeled since we were poor white farmers from the south.  Those were happy times for me as we were so poor I did not even know it as a child.  I got paid fifty cents per bushel of peanuts I picked and every Wednesday the traveling store came right in front of our door loaded with sweets, can goods, breads, did I say sweets!

There were times as a child that our meals were a little thin.  We would have skillet corn bread with gravy and if lucky we had either turnip or mustard greens, but we left the table with our bellies full.  Come harvest time was the best, as we were allowed to go out and pull a watermelon or cantaloupe to eat and we had plenty of fresh tomatos or cucumbers we ate right out of the field, and I always had a salt shaker in my back pocket.  What is funny is none of us ever got sick from e-coli like they do today, wonder why.

As a child we went to school and I had old clothes, some were hand-me-downs to Salvation Army specials, but I still walked with my head held high as I had a very loving grandfather who did the best he could.  Back during those years there was a great compassion within our neighborhood where farmer worked with other farmers in hard times, unlike today where farmers are so competitive.  When a farmer during my childhood was ill or injured, we all pitched in to help him with his crops. We all went to the local country church; I got to drive the tractor with my brothers.  As a young lad our church leaders would hide colored eggs in the cemetery that was at the side of our church for us kids to find.  I always thought they should have tried to find a better place to hide the eggs because as a child I was worried someone from below would come up and steal my egg, but it was fun!  After church we had potluck and you talk about food, wow, this beat skillet corn bread and gravy!

As a child I got tired of people telling me what to do so I fooled them, I grew up.  I put away childish things, went into the military during the Vietnam War and found out what death and destruction was all about.  I saw corruption in both parties Republican and Democrat and went on to college to study political science but maintained my conservative roots.  As a southern child my parents were conservative democrats, but as I grew older, the party changed and became the progressive left.  Hence, I started voting Republican and even ran for the US Congress as a Republican in a primary.  Now this party has changed and I will explore with my readers question like: "what is a conservative"?  Corruptions in the US Congress; whom can you trust, and who you can’t? In my blogs I will attempt to be objective, neither Republican or Democrat or even Independent. I will try and perpetuate rationality without emotion, but with compassion for a country I love.

Thomas Jefferson said: “When the people fear the government, there is tyranny. When the government fears the people, there is liberty”. Today, I see and hear fear in the eyes and mouths of the average hard working American.
